To me, this was alarming, because he normally gobbled up his kibble in a matter of minutes. Now, he wouldn’t even touch the food until the next morning when he was starving, and even then, he would only eat about half of it. </p> <p>Experience has taught me that dogs will stop eating for two main reasons:</p> <ol><li>Illness/Injury</li> <li>They don’t like their food anymore.</li> </ol><p>Since Lelouch wasn’t showing any other signs of illness, I went shopping for some canned food to mix in with his kibble. I ended up coming home with Taste of the Wild’s “Pacific Stream” formula. A somewhat uncommon brand, Taste of the Wild is an excellent dog food, but falls just short of the top-tier brands. It’s high in protein, antioxidants, and Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, and is very palatable. </p> <p>When I fed Lelouch that evening, I let him sniff the can when I opened it, and he went nuts! He was barking and howling and wagging his tail as I mixed up his dinner, and he gobbled it down without hesitation.
