Live in the countryside with dozens of squirrels? Meh.
Move to the city where there is only one? Novelty.
Lelouch really likes sunlight.
When we first moved into our house, Samuel was sick for about three weeks with a nasty flu-like illness. Every time he had a coughing fit, Lelouch would come running to make sure he was okay.
What a sweetie!
Playtime!
After returning from a trip to my parents’ house, Lelouch stopped eating his food. To me, this was alarming, because he normally gobbled up his kibble in a matter of minutes. Now, he wouldn’t even touch the food until the next morning when he was starving, and even then, he would only eat about half of it.
Experience has taught me that dogs will stop eating for two main reasons:
- Illness/Injury
- They don’t like their food anymore.
Since Lelouch wasn’t showing any other signs of illness, I went shopping for some canned food to mix in with his kibble. I ended up coming home with Taste of the Wild’s “Pacific Stream” formula. A somewhat uncommon brand, Taste of the Wild is an excellent dog food, but falls just short of the top-tier brands. It’s high in protein, antioxidants, and Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, and is very palatable.
When I fed Lelouch that evening, I let him sniff the can when I opened it, and he went nuts! He was barking and howling and wagging his tail as I mixed up his dinner, and he gobbled it down without hesitation. My in-laws’ dog (Thunder), whom my husband and I are babysitting this week, wanted some too, so I put some on top of his bowl as a little treat.
Glad this problem was an easy fix!
I work at a feed and pet store, so every day when I come home from work, Lelouch will crawl all over me and spend at least five minutes sniffing my clothes.
I don’t think he likes sharing me with other dogs.
“And all at once the sun was uncomfortably hot, the dust oppressive, and the meager grass along its edges somewhat ragged and forlorn.”
Lelouch loves to stare at lights, particularly when they cast a moving shadow. He will watch them for hours (seriously). But today, he decided to stare at the immobile lamplight. *sigh*
